Exploring Cape Disappointment!

Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center on the
cliffs above the ocean

Cape Disappointment Lighthouse

Close up view of Cape Disappointment Lighthouse

North Head Lighthouse is located only two miles
north of the Cape Disappointment Lighthouse; it
was built here because ships coming into the
Columbia River from the north couldn't see the
Cape Disappointment Lighthouse until it was too late
as witnessed by the many shipwrecks off the point!

Sand Castle Contest On The Beach!

The skies cleared long enough for our Sand
Castle Contest on the beach. The plots are
all laid out ready to build!

Some times it's hard to tell what could possibly
come out of this pile of sand! Elaine S, Shirley G,
Pauline A, and Dale A begin their sand castle

It's starting to take shape as Dale A, Shirley G,

Elaine S, and Pauline A are hard at work

The finished creation - "Camelot (S'not)" - the only
true sand castle in the contest!

The "Camelot" team and their creation - Elaine S,

John S, Shirley G, Bob G, Pauline A, Dale A

This creation called "Classic RV" was created by Dennis S and Terry D - Notice the car and trailer on the mound!

"Dinner" created by Al G, Rose G, Joe R, and Judie R!

Frank & Dianne G helped by Elle (guest)
putting the finishing touches on their creation!

The finished "Wave Counter!"

Go Fly A Kite!

Rose & Al G sit back and watch the aerial display!

Hey Bob G, you better watch your kite or it might
come down on top of someone's RV!

Dennis S gives Bob G a little advice

Now pay attention! This is how it's done! -
Bob G and Dennis S

Joe R can do it with one hand! Guess that's
why he's our Club President!
