Welcome to Helltown.  Properly known as Chauncey, it is a vllage of about 1000 residents.  Situated five miles north of Athens in Southeastern Ohio.  The picture above depicts our village hall where water bills are paid, if you can ever find the water clerk working.  Council meetings are held here on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month.  Nothing ever gets accomplished at those either, so don't waste your time unless you want to hear Mayor Fredricka Shover ride rough shod over the council members and tell the residents to shut up if they dare to complain about the poor condition of the village.

NOTE ABOUT OFFICIALS:
Mayor Fredricka Shover won't answer her phone to most residents.  Hope you don't have a real emergency.
 
Administrator Steve Grant.  If you can't reach him directly, you can leave a message on the answering machine.  He seems to really be trying to do things to clean up the village, so I think he will call you back.
 
Fiscal Officer Shelly Dowler is very rarely seen.  If you want public records, you have to either mail the request to the village hall, or wait until she is in one night a week.  Good luck if you need them quickly.

02/03/05 - Reward for conviction of person(s) vandalizing my car raised from $500 to $800 thanks to the kindness of several people who contributed to the reward.
 
01/30/05 - Vandalism page added to site.
 
01/29/05 - There is a rather lengthy new posting about the council meeting of 01/25/05 on the blog page.  Residents might want to read this one.
 
01/22/05 - My apologies to site visitors.  For some unknown reason, this site reverted to an earlier date, and I lost some updates.  I have recreated some of those lost and will be updating as I get more information to do so.  Thanks.
