Comments: No. 330 was one of the 2nd series of 41
Fuller "Standard" cars built by Portland Railway in 1901. Original
number was 130. Like the other Fullers, it was a three compartment
trolley with large "smoker" vestibules.
No. 330 became somewhat unique in 1912 when it was rebuilt with an extra
door at each end for PAYE (pay as you enter) boarding. The design
may not have been successful, because it was not repeated in any of the
other Fuller cars.
Retirement: 1933.
Technical Notes: Rebuilt to one-man operation in
1921 or 1922. |
