GOING TO BORACAY ISLAND
On your own, getting to the island of Boracay is somewhat challenging. You’ll have to haggle with a tricycle driver
for that short trip from the airport in Caticlan to the jetty. Then at the jetty you’ll need to buy a ticket for
your passage across the channel to the island.
If your agility is no longer 100 percent, getting on and off a traditional outrigger boat could be an adventure in
itself when the water is rough. At such times make sure that both hands are free to grab the handrails or you could
be thrown off the gangway. Waiting for you upon arrival at the island is another haggling session with a tricycle
driver for your trip to your hotel.
Much of the aggravation as described disappears if your destination is Boracay Newcoast. A shuttle service could be
pre-arranged with Island Star Express from the airport to the jetty where the exclusive ferry is waiting. You’ll be
whisked away to Boracay Newcoast’s own ferry dock. The ride would certainly be smooth sailing in the enclosed ferry
compared to that of a traditional outrigger ride.
At the dockside in Boracay Newcoast there would be a shuttle to take you to your lodging destination whether that is
to your condo, to your luxury home, to one of the large chain hotels or to a quaint little hotel at the Boutique Hotel
District.
