Alabama - Mount Cheaha - 2,407 Feet - June 10, 2008

Tuesday, June 10, 2008 - The boating was over. We drove to Cheaha SP CG and found a site in the area by the lake. We went to the highpoint this evening. There is a lodge here with wireless internet access and a pool which campers can use.

Wednesday, June 11, 2008 - We found the main rock climbing area, Rock Garden, below the cabins. There was a group of kids rappelling. Then we hung out at the pool a while. We hiked the Bald Rock trail. There is a boardwalk for handicapped people. We swam in the lake this evening.

Thursday, June 12, 2008 - We got our free climbing permit at the store and went to the Rock Garden. There was a route on the right side rated about 5.6. It was about 50 feet and challenging. I hiked back to the CG while Angie checked email. We swam in the lake, had dinner, and hiked to Pulpit Rock. This is another rock climbing area with great views.
