Florida - Britton Hill - 345 Feet - June 13, 2008
Friday June 13, 2008 - It was off to Florida by way of Talladega Superspeedway. We made a quick stop at Britton Hill (Lakeview Park).
It was raining. Then we drove on down to Grayton Beach SP CG. I could only get one night here with the short notice. We had planned on
going west this trip. Its a very nice campground. The sites are separated well with vegetation. The bathhouses are air conditioned.
They sprayed for bugs the night we were there. I saw a rat.

Saturday, June 14, 2008 - We went to the beach and took our kayaks out on the gulf for a while. The beach is a short drive from the CG.
Then we drowe to St. Joseph Peninsula SP CG. It is on a strip of land sticking out in the gulf. There are two campgrounds; Shady Pines
and Gulf Breeze. We stayed at Shady Pines. There is more shade. It looked like there had been a fire recently, but the vegetation
was growing back. The beach was a short walk away. After being to beaches in NJ, MD, CA, and eastern FL, this was paradise. There
were very few people, warm water, and miles of white sand beach. I saw another rat.
Sunday, June 15, 2008 - Angie gave me a scrapbook of our highpoints from her and Missy for Father's Day. It was nice looking back on them.
We hiked the Bayview Nature Trail and took our kayaks out on the bay. The water was very shallow. We were about a quarter mile from shore
and the water was only one foot deep. We did laundry.
Monday, June 16, 2008 - We hiked the Maritime Hammock Trail. The mosquitos were ferocious. Then we went to the beach. The water was off
in the CG most of the day. We could tell when it was turned on when a lady sang "Hallelujah, Hallelujah."
