Massachusetts - Mount Greylock - 3,491 Feet - June 24, 2007
Sunday, June 24, 2007 - We drove back to Adams and found Friend Street and West Mountain Road. This took a while.
Somehow I got off route 8 and ended up on the wrong side of the mountain. Normally you
can drive to the top of Mt. Greylock. There is a lodge and war memorial. This year the road was closed for repairs.
We hiked the Cheshire Harbor Trail. It is about seven miles round trip.

With the help of Mapquest, we found our way back to New York, drove north to the exit for Lake Placid and west to Meadowbrook
Campground. This campground is close to the highway and a restaurant. The restaurant has live music some nights. It
ended around 9 this night. After the delay this morning in finding the trailhead, we drove out to the Adirondack
Mountain Club Loj and asked exactly where the trailhead for Mt. Marcy was. It is at the end of the parking lot. We also
went into Lake Placid and saw the stadium where the U.S. beat the U.S.S.R. in hockey at the Olympics
