Sunday August 11, 2013 - I finally decided to return to Utah and climb King's Peak. The girls and I had been there seven years earlier and were
driven off by the mosquitoes. I brought a head net and plenty of bug spray this time. I spent the day crossing Wyoming from north to south. I drove
through the Wind River Canyon. It was impressive. It seemed like I was driving downhill, but I couldn't have been since the water was flowing the
opposite way. I stopped the car twice to look at the river and make sure of this. Maybe it was the way the rock was layered. I camped
at Henry's Fork Campground at the trailhead for King's Peak.
Monday, August 12, 2013 - These two moose were browsing the campground. I hiked to Dollar Lake. A lot of the pine trees had died from a Mountain Pine
Beetle infestation. The mosquitoes were not bad at all. We were there at the end of June last time. I guess six weeks makes a lot of difference.
I broke out the water filter for the first time. It was plugged. It was only the second time I used it, a Sawyer Squeeze. I boiled a couple of quarts.
All the water before had been flowing and clean. There is a lot of horseshit on the Henry's Fork Trail.
Tuesday, August 13, 2013 - I hiked over Gunsight Pass into Painter Basin and found a campsite near a creek. At noon, it was hailing. At 2 pm the
thunderstorms rolled in. I spoke to two guys who were on the summit in hail the day before. They said it was scary. I planned on getting an early start.
My gps has an alarm clock.

Wednesday, August 14, 2013 - I got up at 2:30 am and was on the trail by 3:30. When I reached Anderson Pass around 6 am, I was able to turn my light off.
I reached the summit around 7:30 and was back in camp by 10:30.

got to look in the senate and house chambers. I went to the Wyoming Museum. It was free.

Colorado or Kansas, and slept.
