Thomas Marks was born about 1774 in Frederick County MD and moved to Cedar Creek, Gilmer Coun ty VA (WV) about 1828. His first wife was Sarah Queen, who died in 1809. Thomas married Sal ly Jones in Harrison County June 12, 1809. Sally died in Gilmer County in 1839. Thomas ma rried a widow, Mary (Starr) [Nutter] Steel in Harrison County VA December 30, 1855. Mary , a daughter of Moses Starr, was in Harrison County VA in 1787. She married William Nutter i n Harrison County November 5, 1804. William died after 1825 and she then married John Steel.
