To facilitate distribution, I have set up a release system for the Panel Editing Program PEP. You can access the files necessary to either make a new installation of PEP or to update an existing installation, via ftp. I would advise existing users to check the update area every week or two, as I am still creating new builds as I add features and fix bugs.
To make a new installation:
click this
link
click on Install
click on SETUP.LST
click on setup.exe
click on Pep.CAB
quit
Then, run setup.exe to install PEP. You must have administrator privileges on the Windows NT, 2000PE or XP operating systems to do this. In Windows 95, 98 or 2000ME you can install as a user. Once PEP has been installed, start it and select File>Register. A window will appear showing your hard disk serial number. E-mail this to me at dave@amiwest.com and I will e-mail back a registration code. Enter this code in the appropriate box in the same window. Your copy will then be registered. You can run PEP before registering it, but you will not be able to save anything you create.
To update an existing installation:
click this
link
click on Update
click on newpep.exe
quit
newpep.exe is a self-extracting .zip file. Run it, extract the contents (pep.exe and pep.chm) and place them in the directory where PEP is installed (usually c:\Program Files\PEP). This will update your executable and help files. To see the changes that have been made to PEP, the What's New page is kept up to date.
NOTE: If you have installed PEP previous to v1.3.17, you will probably need to uninstall PEP and reinstall it to use the latest version. This is because some features have been added to PEP that require .dll files that were not previously distributed with PEP.
