Chopper II
This chopper gets its start from my friend Chris who was inspired to build one after he saw mine. Chris' uses my custom built rear single swing arm on a 17" volvo rim. We welded this bad boy up from left over pipe in my garage, and welded it over at Mikes house since all my stuff was packed for my move to Oregon. At this point you can see a small bar extending over the top and front of the rear tire which will be used to help support a rear fender/seat assy. The front tire is from Chris' mountain bike and works well for sizing up the whole bike. Chris will end up using the same Honda Spree 50cc engine I used and will hang it under the main body tube just ahead of the rear tire. Since the engine's output is made to connect directly to a rear wheel we'll have to weld on a small extension and affix a sprocket for chain drive. This will help in using the integral brake, part of the Sprees' final drive setup.
As you can see the shop is so busy we have plenty of time to screw around on projects like this, what a job.
Last I heard Chris had painted it bright caution yellow. Can't wait to see...
