A Special Dog
In 2004, Sporty had a long-awaited litter after several unsuccessful a.i. breedings.
All was well until at 3 weeks of age, one of the puppies was found with a broken leg from an unknown accident in the whelping box. The tiny puppy was too small and growing too fast to wear a cast or a splint, so the vets thought it best to bandage the leg with a wire for stiffness. The bandage was changed 3 times a week to keep it clean and adjusted as the puppy grew.
After 6 weeks, the bandage was removed, and intensive therapy was undertaken to rehabilitate the leg.
Chai started weekly swim and massage therapy at 10 weeks of age.
Today Chai is a beautiful, healthy and active young dog .
