      • VIP (Volunteers In Parole) Mentors, Orange and San Francisco, CA 2001 to 2005: As a Program Director for a non-profit, I recruited attorney volunteers to mentor parolees from the California Department of Corrections and the California Youth Authority in an effort to develop friendships and relationships offering guidance, support, and resources that facilitate successful transition to community living and successful completion of parole for parolees so they can become self-reliant, self-supporting, self-respecting, and crime free members of the community. Responsibilities included recruiting, orientating, matching, and maintaining matches between parolees/wards and attorney volunteers; designing and making informational presentations to attorneys, civic groups, and college level classes; conducting day-to-day operations, maintaining financial and statistical records, planning activities and events in support of matches and assisting in grant writing.
