Recently, I participated in the Ancestry.com DNA Project. I am starting to get the results of the test. I have about 60-70 more DNA test matches that I have not read.
Information from Ancestry.com states that information obtained only from DNA tests matches have varying accuracy ratings. For example, 3rd and 4th cousins would have an accuracy rating of 95%. The farther away you get from other people with matching DNA markers the lower the DNA accuracy percentage.
The lower percentage DNA marker matches may point in the right direction, however the connection is strengthened by information obtained from other sources.
The examples I have below have accuracy rating of at least 60%.
The PIRTLE, HICKAM, EMERY, & NORTON Connections
I have shared DNA markers with descendents of the following people:
Since I have some DNA matches with other descendents of John Buckingham, it appears that Margaret Buckingham is William "Billy" Hickam's mother.
I have DNA matches with descendents of the following people in the Grass family:
DNA test results indicate that descendents of the Grass family and I have matching DNA markers. My only possible connection with the Grass family, that I am aware of, is through Jordan Smith's parents. We know that Jane Grass married Andrew Smith. In addition, Andrew & Jane had a son named Jordan Smith. Therefore, their son named Jordan Smith is our ancestor, Jordan.
