This is a long, narrow table made to go under the bay window in our living room, and hold May's plants and other things. The top is a spectacular piece of quilted maple, from the same tree as my big clock and Suzanne's horses' signs. The base is made of some "rustic" (gnarly) walnut. I wanted to keep the base simple, almost severe, to show off the top even better. The little ironwood bird sculpture is an antique-shop find that looks really good on the quilted maple.
