In 1954, Otis W. Danner had several poems that were copyrighted and published in a small booklet that was called "Twilight in the The Smokies". In this booklet, Otis stated that his poems were "dedicated to my wife, who has demonstrated as both a wife and mother, the fine characteristics of our mountain people". These poems are presented as it shown in the booklet.
