Flaming Gorge, Utah
Monday, June 26, 2006 - We drove to Green River and looked at their whitewater park. There were a couple of nice play waves but it didn't look all
that interesting. We stopped at the Flaming Gorge Visitor Center in Green River. The ranger told us that the section below the dam was a nice trip.
He also told us it was flatwater. It took us about two hours to drive there. We bought a shuttle. Only Missy wore a helmet. The river had about four
class II rapids. There were a lot of fly fisherman. The water was very clear and we saw a lot of trout. The lower section of the gorge had been burned
by a forest fire. Our van was waiting for us at the takeout. We then drove to the Mustang Ridge Campground. On the drive we saw many more burned areas.
