Zilpah Hill's mother, Hannah Drake Hill Riddle and her second husband JOhn Riddle are near ne ighbors in Reedy District, now Roane Co., in 1850. A Susanna Board, 11, is living with Zilpa h Hill's brother Elijah in Ritchie Co. in 1860 (with others not his children, including thei r mother Hannah Drake Smith Riddle.) There is a Susan, 1, in William K. and Zelpha Board's h ousehold in 1850. This is good circumstantial evidence that Zilpah Hill was the first wife o f William K. Board. Lowther seems to have confused the husbands of the Aaron Smith daughter s who left Ritchie Co.
