Hello Captain,
At this web site, I have compiled several printable calculators that are to be used with Silent Hunter 4, Wolves of the
Pacific. These calculators are in .jpeg format for ease of download. They are :
1. Angle on Bow Calculator I have instructions for using the Calculator
with both Low and High Realism GamePlay settings. The pages are in .jpeg format for printing or saving to your
computer. The Low Realism instructions are for those who play the game without checkmarking the "No Map Contact Update".
These 3 pages are accessible, along with the printable Calculator, at the "AoB Calculator" page found at
the left.
The "Tutorial for High Realism GamePlay" are for those who play the game with the "No Map Contact Update" and
"Manual Targeting System" both checkmarked. There are 8 pages with images, and a "Target Ship Worksheet" that are printable
or downloadable to your computer. These instructions can be found at the left, under the "AoB Tutorial and Worksheet"
heading.
2. Merchant Speed Calculator The use of the Speed Calculator
is quite simple. Just time a target for a distance of one nautical mile (use the Ruler to mark the Nav.Map the 1nm distance), then
match the time to the black arrow on right, find the Knots on the left. These pages can be found at the left, under the
"Merchant Speed Calculator" heading. This Calculator can also be used with the Higher Realism settings and futher instructions
are in the "Tutorial".
The AoB Calculator has 3 instructional pages to print. Plus:
1: The Target AoB Dial
2: The Compass Dial
3: The Base Wheel
The Speed Calculator has two pages.
1. The Inner Speed Dial
2. The Speed Calculator Base
Use your printer's highest quality color setting, and I recommend using heavy "coverweight" cardstock
paper. I used a two prong, brass brad to hold it together once the parts are cut out.
I plan to make a second Speed Calculator for the faster "Warship" calculations.
