Haystack Rock at Cannon Beach is home to millions of birds and other sea life. The starfish, anenomes, welks, hermit crabs, and mussels are usually hidden beneath the choppy surf boiling around the base of the rock. We were fortunate to be there during a 'minus tide' - the lowest of the year. Revealed to us were the myriad life forms crowding every square inch of the rock's surface.
