Originally a small farming village, Llandough is now a suburb of Cardiff;
not much remains of the original village except the church.
The landscape is not much changed, but the town itself is typical of
any modern suburb. The Merry Harrier is the social focal point for
the area we stayed in, and was usually full for the televised
Rugby World Cup matches.

St. Dochdwy's is an old church, but St. Augustine's in Penarth has taken over the main duties of the parish.
As with many old churches, the graveyards have fallen into a bit of a state of disrepair. Some of these gravestones
date from the 1700's. The church was first built in the 12th century, although the Llan was known as a holy place
in the 5th and 6th centuries. The church as it now stands was rebuilt in 1866.
