News from Snohomish...

I'm sorry it has been such a long time since I updated our website.  I will try to be better in the future!  A lot has happened since I last posted: we went to California for Christmas, had a cold and wet January, enjoyed a visit from my Mom, Debbie, in February, and started planting our garden for spring.

We went to California for 10 days at Christmastime and had a blast!  We celebrated Brian's sister's birthday, saw the play The Christmas Carol at the South Coast Reparatory with Omi, played with our nieces and nephews, shopped with my Mom, ate out at all our favorite restaurants in California, and in general, enjoyed quality time with our family and friends.

January in Washington was very cold and wet - it rained for almost 30 days straight!  Apparently it has been one of the coldest, wettest winters Seattle has seen in about a decade.  February was cold as well, but the sun came out and it was absolutely beautiful, reminding us of how much we love the Washington landscape.

My Mom was here for 5 days during the beautiful weather in February, and we had a great time.  We took a ferry boat ride to Whidbey Island and drove around, went into Seattle and ate dinner on Lake Washington at Duke's Chowder House, shopped, baked a black forest cherry cheesecake, and relaxed.  Having my Mom here was wonderful.  The hardest part of living in Washington is being away from our loved ones.  While she was here, I couldn't stop smiling! Fortunately our goodbye at the end of the her trip was not too sad because we will be seeing each other on March 23rd when we meet in Salt Lake City and stay with my Great Grandmother for her 97th birthday.

Spring is approaching and we have started to work on our garden.  Brian loves to garden and has been buying roses, rhododendron, camellias, and other pretty plants for our front and backyard.  We are looking forward to getting it all done and being able to have some friends over for a BBQ and get together.

We have also started playing soccer on Saturdays with friends from our church.  The first week we played, we had a lot of fun, but were huffing and puffing.  The day after, we were so sore that we could hardly move!  Unfortunately, it snowed a little bit last night, so we could not play this morning.  Hopefully next week!

That's all the news for now!
