La Conner, WA. For the last 27 years I have taught k-6 music and band at Edison,
Allen and BayView Elementary schools in the Burlington-Edison School District in Burlington, WA. I also was an assistant manager for Radio Shack in between jobs.
Prior to college, I was accepted into the Army Element School of Music in Little Creek, Virginia and served my country
traveling with the US Army Band.
I am married to Judy Ducken and have a daughter,
Kaitlan, step-daughter, Shawn and step-son, Jay. We have 3 cats and a dog
that keep us busy. I have performed with the Skagit Valley Community Band, Western
Washington’s Wind Ensemble, and the 433rd and 21st Army Bands.
I still perform with a local band called Night Flight. I
recently retired from teaching music education for 29 years. Twenty- seven of
those years have been with the Burlington-Edison School District. I decided I
needed a change in career. I attended Renton Technical College
in the Band Instrument Repair Technology program under the instruction of Daryl Hickman. I graduated May 18th, 2007. I am presently on the advisory committe
at RTC. I have my own business. I work from my shop, in my home, in Skagit County.
