The first ultrasound happens at 28 days (Nov 21). But, only one puppy can be found.
It's the black oval with the little worm in the upper left of the photo. It's the size of a lima bean, but it shows
a strong heartbeat. We freak out cuz having a "singleton" can be bad: c-sections, rejected puppies, socialization problems,
etc.

Being paranoid parents, we had a second ultrasound a few weeks later (Dec 9) which shows at
least 3-4 healthy pups. Yippee, this means we can cancel the c-section appointment and plan for a natural birth! The pups
are the strange fossil-looking things...

The X-Ray on Dec 23rd shows FIVE puppies are in there! We can feel them on her tummy.

Each week, her tummy kept getting bigger and bigger. By the
week of Christmas she can barely curl up anymore. She spends more time sleeping and is obsessive about cuddling.
She insists on sleeping in our bed... under the covers.
