One very special day in Seattle Washington, a wonderful thing happened in the lives of Susan and Robert.  Do you know what it was?
A very special little boy named Thomas Allan Parker was born.  Everyone at the hospital was very excited.  The whole town of Seattle Washington had been anxiously awaiting his arrival.

When Topper Turtle heard the news, he gathered everyone together.  He declared September 5, 2004, to be a very special birthday for Tom and an occasion that should be celebrated on the same day every year!

At the hospital, Stilty Stork assisted Dr. Stephens in delivering Tom into the world at 7:23 AM
"You're a fine baby boy," said Dr. Stephens.  "I know your mommy and daddy are proud to have the cutest baby in the world."

In fact, Tom seemed to make everyone happy.  Even gruff old Grumbly Gopher had to chuckle when Tom made cute little baby faces.

Soon, the news of Tom's birth spread far and wide.  It seemed everyone in Seattle Washington was thrilled to hear about Tom's arrival.  When Mrs. Churchmouse heard the news, she became so excited that she fell off of her chair and spilled her tea!

Grandma and Grandpa came to see Tom and to share in the excitement of his birth.  Everyone wanted to watch him, and they were amazed at everything he did.

Grandma and Grandpa smiled at the thought of Tom growing bigger and stronger day by day.  Soon, he would be able to recognize all of the people who love him.

Before long, it was time to go home from the hospital.  Susan and Robert said goodbye to everyone who had helped them.  They bundled up Tom for his very first trip to the outside world.

Mommy loved holding and cuddling little Tom.  She talked to him in a soothing, sweet, and loving voice.  Sometimes, she even sang little songs as she rocked Tom back and forth.
