FREE LIFT TICKET GIVEAWAY! THE WINNERS ARE...
Mt Hood Meadows 2008 We began arriving
at 8am after a beautiful sunrise ride up the mountain. The temperature was a brisk 19 degrees with a slight breeze. Everyone
was excited to spend their day on the mountain and for the beautiful, snowy scenery. The resort
let our group use the Winner's Circle room without a fee. This room usually rents for $750 per day. We are so greatful!
This room accomodates at least 100 people easily and gives our group a little bit of privacy. It has huge bay windows overlooking
the mountain, includes a fireplace, and lots of table, chairs, and sofas for us to relax on. They even brought in M&M's,
and other give-aways for us. The first part of the day began in a flurry. Everyone needed to pick
up their skis and snowboards, fit boots, find their jackets, gloves, goggles, and their lift tickets. Laughter, teasing, lots
of picture taking, and everyone helping each other out. It was a wonderful site to see. Soon, everyone was outside ready
to get onto the lifts. Those that were not out on the mountain were enjoying company inside. We
made a huge urn of coffee and brought food. Of course, we all shared whatever we brought, which added to the fun. We played
games, talked, ate, laughed, and helped those that came back inside to warm up. We sparked up our
day and had a drawing for free lift tickets. Those that purchased the Group Rate tickets were entered. Six winners were
chosen. The winners were reimbursed for the price of their lift tickets; $59 for adult tickets and $30 for junior tickets.
The funds for this drawing were raised at the Oregon Picnic held earlier this year in August. The winners were very excited
to win! It really didn't matter whether you were out on the mountain or inside--the day was awesome!
Young or young-at-heart; this annual event brought us all together to share. Everyone left for
home by 5pm. We ended up going a lot slower down the mountain. Everyone was tired all at the same time it seemed and they
wanted to go home when we did. Traffic was a bit of an issue. It all went smoothly though, and everyone arrived home, safe
and sound. We hope those of you that did not join us this year will consider joining us next year. Click
