"Susannah Stalnaker, in the 70th year of her age, appeared before me the subscribed, one of t he Commonwealth's Justices of the Peace for the said county, and being sworn as the law direc ts sayeth that she believes that it was about the year 1778, John Cutright was taken from th e fort at Buckhannon where she then lived, as a draughted soldier from Captain Pringle's Comp any for a term of 18 months against the British, and to the best of her recollection it was t wo years before he returned, and the next year after his return he was wounded by the Indian , when on pursuit of them when they had committeed depredations near the place wheere they we re then posted. She also remember hearing someone say that he had returned from taking the m to Staunton that the above mentioned Cutright was dissatisfied with his officers, he enlist ed for two years service, at Staunton, Augusta County, Virginia," Sworn to August 1835 her S usanna X Stalnaker mark
