Dr. Janis Rasmussen is a licensed psychologist. She received her doctoral
degree in clinical psychology from Rosemead School of Psychology, Biola University. Dr. Rasmussen completed her
internship in clinical psychology at the University of Washington, School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral
Sciences, where her training emphasis was in adult outpatient psychotherapy. She has experience working in a variety
of outpatient settings. Dr. Rasmussen particularly enjoys working with adults
in individual psychotherapy. Areas of special interest include:
· “Women
in transition” - including relationship and life-stage issues such as loneliness / intimacy; pregnancy / parenthood;
conflicts between marriage, parenthood, and career; marital separation; divorce recovery; and the “empty-nest”
transition
· Depression, anxiety and/or recurrent fears
· Emotional turmoil related to separation/loss
of loved one
· Trauma resulting from emotional/physical/sexual
abuse,
dysfunctional families
· Fear of failure or fear of success
