This model was completed in 1987. It shows the Enterprise as seen in Star Trek IV : The Voyage
Home, Star Trek V : The Final Frontier and Star Trek VI : The Undiscovered Country.
The model is about 5 feet long, about 3 times the AMT/Ertl kit. The scale is about 1/172.
The saucer section separates for transport. This size was chosen so that the engineering section with the warp drive
attached fit across the back seats of a 1985 Firebird. There is a tiny figure of Spock in the officers lounge at the
rear of the bridge. The port and starboard photon torpedoe bays alternately glow and then flash to simulate torpedoe
launches. The shuttle bay is open and has the shuttlecraft from the Star Trek V AMT/Ertl kit inside.
This model won Best of Show at the Butch O'Hare IPMS and Lakes Region IPMS shows.
