Basic Cheesecake

This is the basic recipe for cheesecake. There are many variations and ways to serve it.

Variations:
For variety, try one or more of the following:

  • Substitute ½ cup of packed brown sugar.
    sprinkle a ½ cup of chopped and toasted pecans on the bottom of the pie before adding filling.
    Drizzle finished pie with ¼ cup of carmel topping.
  • For a chocolate cheesecake melt four squares of semisweet chocolate and stir into cream cheese mixture. Use a chocolate graham cracker pie crust.
  • For a chocolate swirl cheese cake. Divide the cream cheese mixture, Melt two squares of semisweet chocolate and stir into half the cream cheese mixture.
    Spoon mixtures side by side into pie crust. Slash a few times with a knife.
  • Top with fresh fruit before serving.
  • Stir in brownie chunks, bits of candy, or chocolate chips.
  • Follow the first three steps for Brownie Pudding pie.
    Spoon cheesecake mixture over unbaked brownie.
    Bake according to this recipie.

  Basic Cheesecake

Ingredients: Directions:
  1. Mix cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Add 2 eggs and mix until blended.
  2. Pour into pie crust and bake at 350° for 50 minutes or until center is almost set. Cool.
  3. Refrigerate 3 hours or overnight. Makes 8 servings.
