President

Ernest R. Gillespie Jr.

I am very thankful that you took the time for the Fire Department. You are a brother to me, and the rest of the department. We have had some great times at the station whether it be working or just shooting the breeze. I can remember the card games that we had in the garage, the meetings that were held there. I can also remember the pool games that we had with Beryl Tennant, Luke Lough, and numerous other members. We have come a long way and it was guys like you that made it possible. Your family was great to the department also. In my heart I am sure that you touched so many lives by volunteering your time to help those that were in need during their time of emergency. Jr you gave 35 years to the department and I am very thankful for that. There are not to many people now that have that drive in them to stay the course and fight the fight to keep volunteer alive in the small departments. So, Jr in closing I hope that you are doing the same in the Lords Department. I salute you Ernest Gillespie Jr. I will see you someday!

Fireman’s Prayer

When I am called to duty, God wherever flames may rage

Give me strength to save some life whatever be it’s age. Help me embrace a

Little child before it’s to late or save an older person from the horror of that fate.

Enable me to be alert and hear the weakest shout and quickly and effectively to put the fire out. I want to fill my calling and to give the best in me, to guard my every neighbor and protect his property and if according to your will, I have to lose my life, please bless with your protecting hand my children and my wife.

Amen
