Winter months (or snow months) can begin as early as the end of October thru April.  In general, Thanksgiving through Spring Break is ski, snowmobile, sledding and snow shoe season.  Usually the best snow is from early January through early March.  The slopes, trails and sledding hills have ample fresh snow and the ski areas, restaurants and rental shops are in full operation.
