Gabriel Overstreet died 1 in 1800. Gabriel married Mary.

A Gabriel Overstreet of King and Queen Co., Virginia may be the father of James and Mitchell Overstreet. Gabriel died in 1800 and had a wife Mary. After 1803 Mary either died or left the county.

Gabriel Overstreet left an heir James Overstreet. If this is our James Overstreet is not known. This James appears in the 1804-1805 county personal property tax records and in the 1806 land tax records. Another possibility is that Gabriel was an older brother of James and Mitchell.

Another theory, which is very doubtful, is that James Overstreet was an emigrant and was born in London, England 39. That he quit the sea and came to Virginia around 1759. He may have come with two brothers, John and Thomas. This theory states that
he first settled in Culpeper Co., VA. Around 1790 he then moved to Jessamine Co., KY.

Probably James and his brother Mitchell Overstreet were born around King and Queen or Caroline Counties in Virginia. The Overstreet family name can be found in old documents in York and New Kent Co., Virginia back to the mid 1600's and may have come from England around this time period.

Mary died 1 in 1803. Mary married Gabriel Overstreet.

Died in 1803 or moved away after Gabriel's death.

Mitchell Overstreet was born 1 about 1750 in Va. He died in 1843 in Oldham Co, Ky.

Henry Overstreet [Parents] was born 1 on 2 Feb 1763 in King William Co, Va. He died 1 in 1847 in Jessamine County, Kentucky, USA. Henry married Sally Hornbuckle.

Henry applied for a pension in Jessamine County, February 19, 1835, at the age of 70 years.  He was born in King Williams, County, Virginia, February 2, 1763.  He enlisted into service in Hanover County, Virginia, June 1, 1780. Richard Jones died 1 on 20 Nov 1818 in Louisa Co, Ky. Richard married Elizabeth Overstreet.

The will of Richard and the will of Elizabeth both mention Thomas Harris
(their nephew) who lived with them in 1818.

Elizabeth Overstreet [Parents] was born 1, 2 on 5 Jul 1765. She died 1 on 13 Apr 1822 in Louisa Co, Ky. Elizabeth married Richard Jones.

Pleasant Paris was born 1 on 28 May 1780 in Louisa County, Virginia. He died 1 on 19 Nov 1851. He was buried 2 in Paris Cemetery, Shelby County, Kentucky. Pleasant married 3, 4 Betsy Overstreet on 27 Dec 1802 in Jessamine County, Kentucky, USA.

Betsy Overstreet [Parents] was born 1 on 26 Feb 1783 in Kentucky. Betsy married 1, 2 Pleasant Paris on 27 Dec 1802 in Jessamine County, Kentucky, USA.

Charles Overstreet [Parents] was born 1 on 4 Feb 1791 in Jessamine County, Kentucky, USA. He died 1 in Oct 1836 in Jessamine County, Kentucky, USA. Charles married 1 Nancy Alverson on 9 May 1814.

Nancy Alverson was born 1 on 17 Oct 1792 in Madison Co, Ky. She died 1 on 14 Dec 1885. Nancy married 1 Charles Overstreet on 9 May 1814.

Jesse Jernigan [Parents] died in Aug 1816 in Stewart County, Tennessee. Jesse married Naomi Bell.

Ancestry DNA links for Harris Donnel indicate that Jesse Jernigan's parents might have been David Jernigan and Alice Faye Page.

Jesse died in Stewart CO TN in 1816 and named Elizabeth as a child.  Estimating from the time Jesse and Thamar married, she would have been born about 1803. I have no further record on her.

Jesse JERNIGAN and wife Tamar (IVES) JERNIGAN, and children Ezekiel, William, Elisha, Daniel, Robert, Charlotte, David, Gabriel, Nancy, Elizabeth, Lewis, Susan Margaret, and Sally.

Two of the sons of Jesse JERNIGAN moved to IL (Christian/Bond Counties).

The will of Jesse Jernigan with Tamar to be executor minute book 1815-1819 page 105 0f Aug 5 1816 with some mention of the will of Hardy Davis. That's all this book says. In Deed book E page 516 mentions deed from Thomas Batson, executor of Jesse Jernigan or Jenigan , Sr. to William Tubb.

Gabriel R. Jernigan [Parents] was born 1 on 9 May 1802 in Nc. He died on 3 Aug 1866 in Christian, Illinois, USA. He was buried in Anderson Cem. Christian, Illinois, USA. Gabriel married Milbury about 1825 in Nc.

Moved to Bear Creek, Taylorville, Christian Co., Ill. in 1835.

In 1860 census for Christian County, Illinois.

Milbury was born 1 about 1806 in Tn. Milbury married Gabriel R. Jernigan about 1825 in Nc.

Raford Carroll was born in North Carolina 3 Nov., 1808 and came to Tennessee in 1828, and was there married to Sarah Jernigan.  They came to Illinois, accompanied by her sister, Aunt Betsy Donnell, in an oxcart, settling near Vandalia, and he entered the first 80 acres of land that was entered in Seminary Township. Sally Jernigan [Parents] 1 was born 1, 2 on 17 Feb 1812 in , , Tennessee. She died 1, 3 on 17 Nov 1892 in Vandalia, Fayette County, Illinois. She was buried 1, 3 in Evans Cemetery, Fayette Co., Illinois, USA. Sally married 1, 3 Raford Carroll 1 on 15 May 1829 in Tennessee.

She could have been Sarah (JERNIGAN) CARROLL neice of Betty (JERNIGAN) DONNEL and John Mabry DONNEL.
