Mrs. Eugene A. [Ruth B.] Schlegel, 83, of 1159 W. Staver Street, Freeport, IL, died Wednesday night [26 Sep 1979] at Freeport Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
 For 40 years she was employed as a department head for Manchester's in Madison, Wis.   She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Order of Eastern Star.
 Born Oct. 20, 1895 in Freeport, she was the daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth [Smith] Bonn.   She married Eugene A. Schlegel Nov 14, 1922 in Freeport.   He died May 16, 1962.
 Surviving are one brother, Abe Bonn of San Bernardino, CA, and one sister Mrs. Anna Wagner of New Milford, IL.
 She was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers and her husband.
