Grace (Flokstra) Hagberg and her husband George Hagberg had a LARGE white house in Canaan, New Hampshire.  In the attached 'barn' was an antique shop they ran.  If you went up the barn steps to the second floor, and entered the house, there was a second story 'outhouse', and in the narrow hall to get to the outhouse was a window overlooking the lot and river behind the house...more like a small field or meadow.  It was on the second floor, but the ground sloped down at that part, and the cellar beneath the barn was actually above the ground at that point, so it seemed like it was on the third floor.  And yes, inside the house was beautiful and very well kept.  Aunt Grace has no children, and her houses have always been perfect.

Also, the house sat between churches...the big Methodist church on the south, the Assembly of God church on the north (where my grandfather pastored for a few years), and the Catholic church across the street.  They were the only three churches in the town! (by Bonnie Beushausen)

Grace Evangeline Flokstra Hagberg, 85, of Springfield, went home to the Lord on Thursday, June 4, in Maranatha Manor. She was born to Gerard and Martha (Ten Hoor) Flokstra, on July 29, 1923, in Moline, Mich. Grace married George Hagberg on March 29, 1958. She worked doing missionary work in Liberia for five years. Later, Grace worked for The Assemblies of God in missionary finance for 15 years. Preceding Grace in death were her parents and husband. She is survived by her brothers and their wives, John and Lorraine Flokstra, Fred and Jeanette Flokstra, and Gerard and Ruth Flokstra. Grace was beloved by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews and friends. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 9, 2009, in Maranatha Chapel, at 2 p.m., with a visitation from 1 to 2 p.m., prior to the service. Interment will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Lorraine May Flokstra, 87, of Ocala, passed away September 30, 2009 at Ocala Regional Medical Center. Born in Duluth, Minnesota, she came to this area 2 years ago from Mercersburg, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Flokstra was a homemaker who also served in church ministry with her husband for many years and attended the Shores Assembly of God Church. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, John H. Flokstra; daughters, Kathleen Dunbar of Apex, NC and Sheryl Delcamp of Ocala, FL; sister, Gloria Norman of Aitkin, MN; 4 grandchildren, Lisa Moore, Lori Archer, David and Jonathan Delcamp; 9 great grandchildren, Olivia, Alexis, Emmie, Like, Aubrey, Alexander, Addilyn, Elizabeth and Isaiah.     Beverly Anne Flokstra, 62, of Hamilton Drive, formerly of Norwood Street, went to be with the Lord Sunday, Sept. 13, 1998.
    She was born March 17, 1936, to Arnold and Stella Sveum in Minneapolis. She worked for Red Cross in Hibbing and attended Virginia Community College, receiving her associate degree in psychology. She married Gerald ''Fred'' Flokstra on March 14, 1987, in Hibbing.
    She was a loving wife, devoted mother and unique person.
    She was a member of Duluth Gospel Tabernacle.
    She was preceded in death by her parents.
