On 21 Dec 1927 the Detroit Free Press has an announcement that Henry Flokstra, age 19, had charges against him dropped by the family of Elizabeth Larkin who he, apparently had killed in an auto accident. "Victim's Relatives Free Death Driver; Special to The Free Press. Grand Rapids, Dec. 20.-Because relatives of Mrs. Elizabeth Larkin, who was killed when she was struck by his automobile on December 7, have expressed aversion to criminal proceedings, no warrant will be issued against Henry Flokstra, 19 years old, Prosecuting Attorney Munshaw said today. A coroner's Jury, in its report following an inquest, expressed its opinion Flokstra was careless."

Flokstra, Marian M. (Miles) Marian M. Flokstra, age 79, went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 4, 2017. Marian was born on May 7, 1937, the daughter of the late Warren and Elva Miles. Marian is survived by her husband Willis; sister-in-law Nancy (Ken) Myers; nieces and nephews Ken (Kerisa) Myers Jr., Brian (Janna) Myers, Lynnae (Bryan) Hicks and Renae Doyle; eight great-nephews; one great-great-grandnephew; and her special cousins Wes (Millie) Brown and Gene Kamer. Funeral services to honor Marian will be 1 pm Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the Cook Memorial Chapel (East building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, Michigan. Marian's family will meet with friends and relatives from 12 pm until the time of services in the Chapel. Interment will be in Kent Memorial Gardens. We are very saddened by the news that one of our club founders has taken her final checkered flag in life. Marion Flokstra wife of Willis Flokstra passed away this afternoon and is now in the arms of the Lord. Willis & Marion were married for nearly 60 years and were the last two of our clubs founders that started nearly 52 years ago. Marion had been in poor health these last several years and unable to attend our 50th Anniversary Banquet but she was with us in spirit at that time. Our thoughts & prayers are with Willis and his family at this time. “God’s Speed Marion & we’ll see you on the other side someday!
