My collection of Infocom items

Infocom games were the first to really spark my imagination. In high school, I got together with a couple of friends and we collaborated to try and figure out Zork II: The Wizard of Frobozz. I even got mad at one of them when he figured out the hot air balloon puzzle and wouldn't tell me.

In my own articles, I've written about how the level of care evident in each program is different between the pre-Activision era and after Infocom was fully absorbed into Activision (1989). There also a few programs not written by Infocom, but were published under the Infocom name. However, I haven't limited myself to "pure" Infocom programs in my collecting, and I'm glad I didn't. I just finished playing Simon the Sorcerer. There is a lot of humor in that story, and the CD-ROM version features the voice of Chris Barrie, who is also known as Arnold J. Rimmer (BSC, SSC*) in the Red Dwarf TV series.
