Today we started out by heading to Waldenberg, where a castle and tower are located. Most was destroyed during World War 2, but it has been restored nicely. I went up the old tower, and got a great view of the countryside. The steps up were interesting, as they were about a foot wide, very narrow and very steep.
Then off to the old city of Swabish Hall. There we visited the Lutheran church of St Michael's. Very impressive building with a beautiful interior. The art work was fantastic. The church is from the 12th century. We also walked the old section of town, and stopped and had drinks.
The next stop was Nuenstein, and it's castle. This castle is still a residence, and no pictures are to be taken inside. I did get a few of the courtyard and gardens.
After returning to our flat, Char and I hiked up the hill overlooking the area, and had great views of the vineyards. Our hosts were fantastic, as they supplied us with all the fresh fruit we wanted. We also saw their two son's chicken coop, which was interesting. Dinner was again at Peter and Anna Rose's.
