Germany Trip

2003

31st August

We left Dayton for Cincinnati, arriving at the airport the required three hours before flight time. The flight took off on time, and we landed in Chicago at O'Hare International Airport. I got a good shot of the Chicago waterfront just before we landed.

We had a three-hour layover in Chicago, before finally boarding a Boening-767 for the eight-hour flight to Frankfurt, Germany. Our course took us over Lake Michigan in a northeasterly direction, then over Michigan, and Lake Huron, before entering Canadian airspace. By then the sun had set, and we could see the lights of small towns, as the clouds broke. We saw Quebec City from the air, as we flew parallel of the St Lawrence Valley. I never did get to sleep on the flight, nor did Dad. Char slept some, and mom slept a few hours.
