WxService Update Available
- WxMonitor ow4j080617
- Improved the History Panel sorting algorithm to improve efficiency. Both versions are practically instantaneous, but I
decided to fix it anyway.

WxService Update Available
- WxMonitor ow4j080616
- Enhanced the History Panel table to be sortable. The most recent events are at the top of the table, but you can click
the time column to list oldest first, or any other column to find minimum and maximum readings with one mouse click.
- WxService ow4j080616
- Modified Anemometer Data Processor to revert maximum value to current peak gust on reset. This seems more consistent with
the behavior one would expect. It used to revert to the current value.

WxService Update Available
- WxMonitor ow4j080610
- Modified WxMonitor wind display to show maximum gust, average wind speed using a sliding two minute window, and recent
gust using a sliding ten minute window.
- WxService ow4j080610
The new calculation is more consistent with METAR and other common weather reporting specifications. The average and gust
history intervals are independently configurable for display and for posting to CWOP, Weather Underground and CSV log.

AGW Hypothesis not Falsifiable
The Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) hypothesis is not falsifiable. In other words, it is unscientific:
there is no physical experiment that you could run which will either prove or disprove that human CO2 emissions could be the
cause of any climate change.
That means regardless of whether scientists all believe or disbelieve the AGW hypothesis,
it is no more than an article of faith, i.e., religion. The non-establishment clause of the first amendment clearly states,
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion”. If this clause is sufficient to ban prayer in public
schools or keep the Ten Commandments out of courtroom lobbies, then it should be more than adequate to prevent any public
policy regarding AGW, or most environmental issues.

Welcome!
This site is dedicated to my interest in engineering. I use it as a place to just put stuff "out there" for anyone who
might be interested, as well as a job search tool. This page contains my engineering web log (to your left). Anything that
seems timeless enough, or too involved for a log entry may get it's own page as a full-blown article. And, of course, my resume
is here for anyone who might be considering hiring me to do something. Email me.
About Me
I have worked as a broadcast engineer, electronics designer (analog and digital) and software developer. I especially
enjoy audio engineering, although I've been writing software for the last several years, since that's where the opportunities
are in the Pacific Northwest (this is Microsoft country after all). I'm currently working as a Senior Staff Engineer -- Resume at another large independent software vendor in Washington State.
I majored in mathematics and physics in college. Other interests include music appreciation (baroque, classical and early
romantic, ragtime, and 60's and 70's rock & roll), high fidelity audio electronics, meteorology and of course, computing
hardware and software. I tend to think a lot like this guy.
