Aegean Campaign 1997

August 02, 2024

Aegean Campaign 1997 (Stand-Alone) is here, and here and here .  {Note: this updated stand-alone version is not in the current Playset. It will be included in the next Playset release.}

This is a 40-mission fictional campaign that takes place from August 02, 1997 to October 31, 1997. Unlike some other usnraptor campaigns that require the Playset to run, Aegean Campaign 1997 is now (or, more accurately, once again) a stand-alone campaign set. This means it is designed to run solely in a default Fighters Anthology installation that has been properly patched to version 1.02.  Be sure to read the installation instructions found inside the .zip file, labeled READ ME .txt .

{For gallery pictures, scroll down.}

Campaign Features:

- Player flies eight different aircraft and seven different mission types.

- All missions posted as both Single Missions and Campaign Missions.

- Fairly simple missions, making this a great campaign for beginners and returning players.

- Player guide giving a brief mission description and goals, labeled "Aegean Mission Desciptions.txt".

- New aircraft and vehicle textures.

- Nine special codes used.  (example: "This is Aeroflot Flight 261. Emergency!")

- Reappearance of CAG Hotshot's P-3, and modified FA Future textures for Hellenic F-4s and F-16s.

Campaign development history

Winter/Spring of 2015, development began on my third custom campaign, with Israel 2001 and Taiwan 2014 coming prior.

May 24th, 2015, the campaign was first published as a stand-alone, and posted on Zephyr's Fighters Anthology Resource Center (FARC) website.

May 4th, 2018, with the advent of the USNRaptor Playset, the Aegean Campaign 1997 was upgraded and converted to run on the Playset. The campaign received a few more upgrades over the next several years as the Playset was updated.

June, 2024, with the Playset breaching the Fighters Anthology 'total file limit', it was decided to convert all campaigns to stand-alone projects. The Aegean Campaign 1997 was chosen for its ease of conversion and simplicity of its missions.

August 2nd, 2024, on the campaign's ninth anniversary, Aegean Campaign 1997 is published as a stand-alone project, along with this website.
