Funchal, Madeira, Portugal

Miami - Houston

We had five days at sea between Madeira and St. Thomas.  The days were pleasant and relaxing.
Lots of nice meals and good wine shared with ship-board friends made the time go fast.  This is just a
sampling of what we enjoyed.  In the restaurants, the portions are not large, but you can order more if you want.

Scrumptious carrot cake!  On the menu every night.

One of the towel animals left by the room steward when making up the rooms every day.

Our butler, 'Cha' - very nice fellow and very helpful.

Breakfast in the cabin - yum.

One of several large, ornate dining rooms.  We always went to the restaurants rather than the buffet because of the nice atmosphere.

Creme Brulee

Cheese, fruit and nuts.

Shrimp Linguini

Part of the salad bar at the Brazilian 'Chiaroscuro' restaurant, one of the specialty restaurants on board.

Brazilian style bar-b-que, a variety of meats carved
at the table.  The pineapple was delicious.

A little late afternoon cheese and crackers with some wine.

There was a show every night in the ship's theater.

After five days at sea, we arrive at St. Thomas.  There isn't much to see right around the
boat dock except a big shopping mall.  We just went out for a few hours and walked around.
The Havensight shopping mall is huge, many seperate buildings and lots of shops.

Luxury yacht moored next door.
