DRESS CODE:
This list is progressive. When you see "and up", it is acceptable for every level at and above the one listed
unless it states "only" on a level. In that case, that dress requirement is only for that level.
In case you wonder, a leotard is what you wear on your torso, and tights are what you wear on your legs.
That can be confusing, so we thought we'd clear it up!
All levels: May wear removable ballet sweater or shrug, no shirts or printed items over
leotards. Small embellishments under 2 inches in diameter total are acceptable. (Example: a small screen
printed heart on the bodice or a line of rhinestones along a neckline.)
Hair: All hair must be secured out of face. Buns are required for pointe and recommended
for all ballet classes. Ponytails are acceptable for all other styles as long as it does not hit the dancer in
the face while turning.
Jewelry: Stud earrings only. Nothing that dangles and no hoops of
any kind. No bracelets, watches, or necklaces. Any jewelry must be removed at instructor's request.
Mommy & Me classes, age 6 & under ballet and tap ONLY: Light pink tank, camisole
or cap sleeve leotard with skirt attached (we can order our preferred style for you), light pink tights, pink ballet shoes,
white tap shoes. No separate or detachable skirts.
Age 6 & up: Black leotard (camilsole or tank), light pink tights. May wear
black or light pink ballet skirt.
Level 4 & up (or over age 12): May wear dance shorts or pants and/or any solid color
camisole top over leotard in all classes EXCEPT ballet and pointe. Ballet: 12"-16" black skirt. Pointe:
12"-16" skirt required.
Level 5 & up: Ballet skirt can be any solid color.
Hip Hop: Sweat pants or dance pants, solid color T-shirt, or a leotard and tights
with dance pants. A camisole or tank top is acceptable over a leotard.
All dance styles: White or black solid color T-shirt (or studio T-shirt)
Ballet & Jazz: Black dance pants
Tap & Hip Hop: Black sweat pants or dance pants (small stripe OK), all zippers
and other closures must be closed during class.
