Christmas blessings to one and all! I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas day, but don’t think that Christmas
is over. The Christmas season lasts for 12 days after that one special, holy
day. I have seen fans celebrating a Super Bowl or World Series victory for days
after the winning game. Should the celebration of the birth of Christ be any
less? The song “The Twelve Days of Christmas” comes from the 12 days
following Christmas day, lasting until January 6 when we celebrate the Epiphany, when the three wise men followed the star
to Bethlehem to Christ. So keep that Christmas spirit alive in your hearts!
Another song I would like to mention is
“Away in a Manger”. It was brought to my attention that there is
more to this song than many of us realize. Look at the title this way –
“A Way in a Manger”. Now read John 14:6 – ‘Jesus answered,
“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except
through me”. Christ is the ‘Way’ in that manger. Then I started seeing Christ as the ‘way’ in many other ways (no pun intended). Christ’s whole life was a living example of how we should live, showing us the
‘way’ to live our lives. When Christ died on the cross he was opening
the ‘way’ to heaven for us.
A new year is about to begin. A chance for a fresh start. Ask Christ to be with you through
this New Year and to lead the ‘way’ to a closer relationship with Him.
Wishing you a Blessed Christmas Season and a Happy, Healthy and Holy New Year!
