.......a warm fuzzy blanket.
At least that is Linus’s idea of happiness. Each of us has our own
thoughts and ideas on what happiness is. A child would be thrilled to have cake
and cookies for breakfast and pizza everyday, but as parents we know this is not what is best for him or her. They may be happy for the moment but later in life they would have health problems and weight issues. So as parents, because we love them, we make them eat their vegetables, balance their
diet and eat healthy. In the long run they learn to appreciate this and makes
for a happy life, at least where diet and eating habits apply.
God is our Father. We
do not call Him – “Master”, “Sir”, “Your Honor” or some other note worthy title,
but simply “Our Father”. His love for us goes far beyond the love
we have for our own children, and He wants us happy. But like a parent,
He knows what is good for us and what will make us happy. It’s not
always what we want and what we think will bring us happiness. True happiness
comes from God. The happiness that God wants for us I don’t think happens
here on earth. This is not to say that I don’t think God wants us happy
now, He does, but more than anything he wants us to share in the joy of an eternal life with Him in heaven. This is the ultimate happiness. But to reach this kind of happiness
means that we will have to make sacrifices, suffer sorrow, and experience pain now.
Why do we have to go through all this? I can’t answer that but I
do know that the suffering that Christ endured was for a reason. His death could
have been much quicker, much easier and He still would have died for us, but the suffering He went through was for a reason. Do you think that God, His father, would let Him endure such pain if it wasn’t
to teach us something. So, although there are times in our life we are unhappy
and we are hurting, God our father is right there with us leading us to Him where he knows our true happiness is waiting.
May God bless you and have a joyful day!
