LIFE COMMITMENT SUNDAY

Mathew 9:37 says, "Then He said to His disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few."  This verse speaks volumes from the Lord Jesus concerning the number of people actually out doing what He commanded.  The laborers out spreading the Good News are winning souls to Christ, but those converted (harvested) are not turning into laborers themselves. Just imagine what the world would be like if every person saved was out spreading the good news of salvation above all else?!?  When I think of it like that, even I come up short.  How many people cross our life's path?  When you meet people for the first time or family or friends you haven't seen in years, is it your first concern to find out if they know the Lord?  I went to a family get together just shortly after retiring from the Navy.  I was reunited with a guy I hadn't seen since he was a kid.  He was in his 30's now with kids of his own.  We said hi, played a few games together and a month later he was dead from a drug overdose.  I do not know if he knew the Lord, I never asked. That's my point.  If I had at least asked the question "Do you know the Lord Jesus?"  My mind would have been at ease when I heard about his death.  Because if he would have said NO to the question, I would have took the time to tell him the Good News.  Of course, it would have been on him after that to accept or reject it, but he would not be able to stand before the Lord and say he was never told or given the opportunity.  I keep saying to myself when I meet new people or distant family members to keep that testimony in mind, but like a lot of Christians, I am just part of the harvest not a laborer.  It is so easy to just sit in the harvest basket and wait for redemption rather than get out and start putting more souls in the basket!  It is my prayer for all of us that are in the basket, to get out of it and start adding more to it!

1 Samuel 16:7  The Lord does not see as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.

COAT DRIVE - We want to bless people this winter by providing them with a coat, hat, scarf or gloves.  If you have any of these items in storage, in closets or simply laying around in the way and you KNOW you will most likely never wear these items again, please bring them in to the church so that they can be bundled up and given to someone who could really use them now.  God bless you as you give.

FAMILY BIBLE STUDY - We want to invite you to come to our Family Bible study.  You will get sound Biblical teaching and great fellowship.  It begins at 10am and we have a class just for you.

SPECIAL MUSIC - We are in need of singers and musicians for our special music for Sunday morning.  If you would like to help, please let Shirley King know or call (269) 303-0330.

JUST ASK SOMEONE - This week will you ask someone to come to church?  It is easy to do.  Just try and see what happens.

REMINDER: We have a Prayer dish and Praise dish in the foyer.  All are welcome to put your requests in and we will pray over these and add them to the next bulletin for prayer. You can also go to the prayer section of this website to submit prayer requests online.
