BUSINESS MEETING
We held our last business meeting for 2008 today! A lot was accomplished and a lot was discussed. The changes to our By-Laws was voted on and approved today, now ways to raise money for specific projects is a option for us. I think the biggest things that were discussed though are the visions each of us have for the growth of the church. It will be interesting to see what the Lord does with the church in 2009 as we remain faithful and put our trust in him.

If you are reading our newsletter for the first time, please, come and help us to grow. God bless you.

CHURCH GRANT
Crystal has requested that the church members start digging for donors. Her suggestions are: Online, the Library, Corporations or Businesses in the area who might need a tax break this year. If we get an interested party for Crystal, this will help her to have an audience to voice our grant to. She is very enthusiastic about the turnout and our success. Please pray for donors. Praise God for sending Crystal to us and for all of the hours she has dedicated to us.

CHRISTMAS IS COMING FAST!
Thanksgiving has come and gone and families have been blessed with food baskets from our church! Amen! We all certainly have a lot to be thankful for, as Christians, we are always thankful each day God gives us and each breath we draw. We know that in our hearts, but sometimes God wants us to utter the words out loud in prayer. So be mindful of that the next time you give thanks.

Christmas will be here sooner than you think! I don't know about you, but the days seem to be ticking off like the second hand on a clock! Christmas is about Christ our Lord and Savior, not happy holidays or season greetings or any other politically correct phrase. So I say, and I hope you will join me, MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone!! I am not afraid to say it in public or to anyone I meet and I hope you will not be either. So if they say happy holidays to you, you say Merry Christmas back at them. Let's keep the spirit of Christmas alive. God bless.

A LOT TO BE THANKFUL FOR
What a great day for Niles Avenue Baptist Church and it's three new members! Ron, Darlene and Tammy professed their faith in Jesus today and were voted in as new members of the church! Congratulations and welcome to God's family! Check out their photos in the member's area of this website.

Today we assembled 3 boxes of food designed specifically for a Thanksgiving dinner. I pray that God will guide them to families that desperately need them. With the high cost of food now, the cost of a Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings is more now than it has ever been! May they receive the boxes with thanksgiving and God's blessing.

This week's memory verse

bible3_sm.jpg

1 Samuel 16:7  The Lord does not see as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.

COAT DRIVE - We want to bless people this winter by providing them with a coat, hat, scarf or gloves.  If you have any of these items in storage, in closets or simply laying around in the way and you KNOW you will most likely never wear these items again, please bring them in to the church so that they can be bundled up and given to someone who could really use them now.  God bless you as you give.

FAMILY BIBLE STUDY - We want to invite you to come to our Family Bible study.  You will get sound Biblical teaching and great fellowship.  It begins at 10am and we have a class just for you.

SPECIAL MUSIC - We are in need of singers and musicians for our special music for Sunday morning.  If you would like to help, please let Shirley King know or call (269) 303-0330.

JUST ASK SOMEONE - This week will you ask someone to come to church?  It is easy to do.  Just try and see what happens.

REMINDER: We have a Prayer dish and Praise dish in the foyer.  All are welcome to put your requests in and we will pray over these and add them to the next bulletin for prayer. You can also go to the prayer section of this website to submit prayer requests online.
