She was headed for the Panama Canal with no heavy cargo in the holds. Not a too big of a deal except for

craft and snaping several cargo booms. The stories that Dad and his shipmates told of many sick sailors paint a gross
picture. The rest of the ships in the convoy thought the Suffolk was lost.
