George Washington Plaque Replaced and Rededicated

In 1911 a plaque honoring George Washington as vestryman when The Falls  Church was still part of Truro Parish, pre-1765, was placed on the west  exterior wall of the Historic Church by the Falls Church Chapter, NSDAR.   This original plaque was made of marble which time and the elements had destroyed.
Falls Church Chapter replaced the old plaque with a new granite one  guaranteed to withstand the ravages of climate for centuries.  A  rededication ceremony attended by chapter members, friends, and guests was  conducted by Reverend John Yates and Chapter Regent Ann Gandy on October 2,  2005.  Honored guests included Mrs. Marie Yochim, Centennial President  General, and Mrs. Cindy Phillips, National Historian General.
