Rare Baxter's Process Print of
Raphael's Cartoon of the "Miraculous Draft of Fishes".
This is a rare Baxter's Process print made by Bradshaw and Blacklock of England from the Raphael cartoon, "Miraculous Draught of Fishes". This print was mounted on a backerboard, probably in the late 1800's judging by the foxing. The print appears in fairly nice condition and measures about 5 x 7 inches. Bradshaw and Blacklock licensed the Baxter's process from Baxter in 1850's or so. These studies were produced soon after as far as we can determine. These are very rare items and were colored by aligning a block for each color used and impressing it over the engraving.
